====== Logging In to the jPC for the First Time ======

The jPC operating system is produced with the following default user:
  * username: admin
  * password: comfile

It is highly recommend that this password be changed with the [[https://manpages.debian.org/trixie/passwd/passwd.1.en.html|passwd]] command before connecting the jPC to any network.

Use one of the following methods to get access to a terminal shell prior to connecting to a network.

  * Use a terminal emulator program and connect to the [[jpc:console:index|USB-C console port]].
  * [[jpc:ssh:index|Enable the SSH daemon]] in the jPC's default administration program, and then use an Ethernet cable to directly connect a PC to the jPC's Ethernet port for [[:jpc:link_local:index|Link-Local access]].
