+In 2008, Microsoft officially discontinued updates for the Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC—formerly ActiveSync) on Windows Vista. Since WMDC may not function on newer versions of Windows—specifically Windows 10, or Windows 11 versions released after February 2023—the following patch is required.
