For Windows 7 and later, Windows Mobile Device Center has replaced ActiveSync. If it is not already installed, it should be installed automatically when the ComfileHMI hardware is first connected to the host PC (See this video for a demonstration).
If Windows Mobile Device Center does not install automatically, it can be downloaded from the following link and installed manually.

When the ComfileHMI panel PC is first connected to the host PC via USB, the following window should appear.
After the device drivers and Windows Mobile Device Center are installed, Windows Mobile Device Center should start automatically as illustrated below. Select the “Connect without setting up your device” option.
Finally, the following window should appear.
After a connection is successfully established, there is no need to make any changes to Windows Mobile Device Center, or use Windows Mobile Device Center directly. All operations related to the ComfileHMI hardware can be done through Comfile Studio.
In 2008, Microsoft officially discontinued updates for the Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC—formerly ActiveSync) on Windows Vista. Since WMDC may not function on newer versions of Windows—specifically Windows 10, or Windows 11 versions released after February 2023—the following patch is required.
Please run the patch file provided below.

3. Once the patch installation is complete, a window will appear asking if you would like to restart your PC. At this prompt, select [Yes] to restart your computer.
